My interest in the wine world came about quite by chance. At the tender age of 19, I found myself studying French and Economics in Bordeaux. It was quite difficult to spend 2 years in Bordeaux without become a wine enthusiast. Particularly as a student!
Once finished studying, I worked for a multinational drinks company in Madrid, looking after the European distribution division for their Marques de Arienzo Rioja Wine and their range of Pedro Domecq sherries. Lucky me!! I got to visit both Rioja and Jerez and conduct tastings with customers.
I later decided to go to London to do my wine exams with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London and obtained their Level 4 Diploma, before heading to Chile to work the harvest with Concha y Torro Wines. After 6 months in Chile I then returned to Spain to work for a small, family owned Cava house in Penedes, Cataluna, looking after their exports.
I moved to Malaga 12 years ago and, after several years of dedicating my time to bringing up a family, I recently completed a Masters Degree in Wine Tourism at Malaga University. Here I discovered the unique winemaking techniques for the sweet wines, and the innovative techniques being employed to produce dry white, rose and red wines in the Malaga region, as well as the wonderful people behind these wines.
I’m so excited to be working again in the this industry, organizing exclusive wine tastings and meeting all the extraordinary people behind the wines in this beautiful region, and I am so pleased to share this knowledge and my Andalucia wine tours proyect with you.
